Please click here for access to the JNAC Survey. Your feedback is welcomed and encouraged!
When an opening occurs in a congregation’s ministry staff, which happened last February when Kelley Warner left to pursue more education and ministry options, the United Church of Canada requires that a congregation must strike a Joint Needs Assessment Committee (JNAC). The purpose of a JNAC is to assess the needs of the congregation and recommend the appropriate staffing to achieve those needs identified. It is the congregation’s responsibility to accept or reject the recommendations.
To collect the information on what you believe are our needs, wants, desires and opinions, JNAC has chosen to:
- Distribute a survey; and then
- Hold two focus-group sessions.
Your opinions and views are both welcome and needed. The survey is for adherents and members of all ages to fill in. Each member in a family is encouraged to complete and return a survey. You may photocopy the survey or obtain additional copies from the church so that each family member has his or her own form. If you prefer to use the Internet, each member simply needs to respond individually by using the online version at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/LUC_JNAC_SURVEY_2010. Your views are important no matter your age.
If you need a copy of the questionnaire delivered to you, please contact one of us or the church office. Also, if you know of any members or adherents who are away but have access to a computer, please let them know how they can access the survey on the Internet so that their views may also be received and included.
We have tried to make the survey easy to fill in and take as little time as possible. Please return completed surveys by February 10. There will be a JNAC box in the Narthex to place them. Computer responses will be handled electronically.
Focus groups are planned for later February and the dates will be announced once they are set. The discussion in the focus groups will be based on the results tabulated from your responses.
Yours in faith,
